Multicultural Education

Inclusion alludes to children coming from different backgrounds and cultures. Malta’s economic growth led to an increase in economic immigration, which, in turn, caused a seismic shift in the education system. This mass migration resulted in multinational classrooms. For instance, 75% of the students attending Sliema’s primary school are immigrants.

With the migration issue in mind, the EU is proposing that multiculturalism should become a core value in education, as it enriches the development of transversal skills across the EU community.

Multicultural education thus serves as one of the primary mediums to inculcate social integration in Malta. The LSE needs to implement this vision and to support migrant students in navigating Malta's education system.

  7. Explore religious and ideological value systems and determine how they affect education objectives, personal identity and group behaviour.
