(Introducing): Educational Technology for the Inclusive Classroom
Course Duration: 9 hours - 3 hours
Technology has become an integral part of any classroom. With the presence of interactive boards, tablets and laptops/computers, teachers are expected to use them effectively.
Visuals and technological games facilitate learning. Thus, LSEs need to know how technology can benefit students with special needs and how to develop educational strategies that use ICT and AAC devices.
Understanding developments in ICT
How AAC devices can benefit children with special needs
Understanding the concept of assistive technology
Practical ICT activities that can be used to motivate students in the classroom
Integrating ICT and AAC activities in the curriculum to achieve competency in the core subjects
During this module, our students will:
Understand the importance of ICT when teaching children with diverse needs.
Identify, evaluate and analyse ICT’s role in promoting inclusivity in the classroom.
Examine how AAC devices can be used to motivate students.
Learn how to implement Malta’s ICT policy in the classroom.
