This course targets those who would like to work as professional carers. The skills and knowledge covered during this course can then be implemented at long-term care facilities or at the older adult's private home.

  6. Help the older person to cope with the mental health challenges that he/she may be facing.

  7. Apply the main ethical principles involved in this line of work.

  8. Enhance the patient’s quality of life by being a competent and professional team member.

  9. Communicate with the older person and his/her family clearly and professionally.

Entry Requirements: 1. Matsec Advanced Level in any two subjects and Matsec Intermediate Level in any one subject (MQF Level 4) Or 2. Any recognised qualification at MQF Level 4 (120 ECTS) Or 3. Matsec Ordinary level in at least 4 subjects and more than 5 years’ experience in a care worker role or higher (references will be requested from present and previous employers including Jobsplus employment history and 4. During the course, candidates must be working in the elderly care sector or be willing to carry out a voluntary placement at a care home.
