Award in Sociology of Organisations
Course Duration: On Request
Companies can be perceived as small societies. In time, an organisation forms its own identity, influenced by the employees, structure, and company culture. This module explores the relevant sociological theories relating to organisations. These approaches, in turn, explain underlying dynamics and processes. Furthermore, our students will learn how organisations and societies influence each other's growth and evolution.
During this module, our students will:
Understand and debate the main sociological theories relating to organisations.
Analyse organisations, according to these theories.
Assess how changes in the company's strategy and structure influence organisational goals and objectives.
Identify topics in organisational sociology that require further research.
