- Develop and apply skills in addressing the needs of the elderly person.
- Understand the potential effects of medication and compliance problems on elderly individuals and provide assistance in treatment appropriately and patiently;
- Assist other professionals in providing professional care to support older persons in a professional and conscientious manner
- Understand and critically reflect on the implications of the standards of care for the elderly people and make suggestions for review and improvement of the services provided.
- Enable older people to make choices about their care through effective interpersonal communication and consultations with them to support them live independently as much as possible
