Mark Farrugia

Mark Farrugia is a Lecturer at the Malta Leadership Institute and a warranted educator with a strong interest in the transformative potential of creative expression for promoting social inclusion. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Musicology and a Master’s in Music Teaching and Learning, both from the University of Malta. He is also an Associate of the London College of Music (A.L.C.M.) in Piano Performance and a member of the Programme Design and Review Committee (P.R.D.C.) within MLI.

Mark’s research and professional interests centre on the belief that music is one of the most effective tools for inclusive education. He is particularly interested in how music supports learners with autism, ADHD, and speech difficulties, and how it can be used as a pedagogical strategy to support inclusive learning environments. He also explores the role of music in behaviour management, therapy, emotional regulation, and smooth classroom transitions.
