An experienced educator with over 12 years in the field, Stephen Farrugia has been lecturing 

with MLI since 2024 and has been a member of its core group for a significant period. Farrugia is currently a member of the Programme Design and Review Committee (PDRC) at MLI. He also served as a dissertation tutor, providing guidance through the research and writing process at the undergraduate level. He holds a recognised postgraduate teaching qualification, as well as  a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Malta, reflecting a strong academic and professional background.His interests include collaboration and teamwork in educational settings, as well as the arts,  music, and the humanities as tools for meaningful learning. Farrugia has extensive experience in the music performance sector and in research related to Maltese heritage, including sacred music. He is also interested in cognitive and behavioural understanding, particularly in how  children learn, engage, and respond in different contexts. He values inclusive classroom practices and promotes participation, creativity, and critical thinking.
