Course Overview

Intro

This MQF Level 5 module (4 ECTS) explores topics such as the principles of management, different roles within an organisation and the contemporary theories of management. Furthermore, it will arm our students with essential knowledge relating to how organisations develop and grow. It also serves as an introduction to other specific modules in the course, such as HR management, strategic management etc. 

Overall competences

During this module, our students will:

• Learn the main contemporary theories of management.
• Differentiate between various types of organisations.
• Assess the viability of these different types of organisations within different contexts.
• Demonstrate critical thinking when presented with managerial problems.
• Understand the internal features of a business system and the environment in which companies operate. 
• Identify and explain the importance of the management process.
• Conduct topic and case analysis when implementing these theoretical concepts.
