Amanda Schembri Muscat

Amanda Schembri Muscat is a registered Senior Paediatric Speech and
Language Pathologist and a Warranted Teacher.

She is currently working as an Early Intervention Specialist and owns Starshine Early Intervention Centre, which specialises in providing services to families with children aged 0-7 years.

For the past 18 years, Amanda has worked in the education sector and coordinated the Inclusive Curriculum Project.

She continues to be involved in various national projects including Inclusion Policy and Framework, Provision Mapping Tool as well as other programmes related to Inclusion and Disability.

Amanda represented Malta as a National Expert at the European Agency for Special Needs and Inclusive Education.

For the past 12 years, she has been delivering lectures in areas such as inclusive education, disabilities, communication disorders, IEPs and curricular adaptations.

Amanda is in her final stages of her PhD in Education (Sheffield University). She is focusing her research on secondary school-aged adolescents with intellectual disabilities and their literacy experiences.
